At Irish Whiskey Auctions and The Whiskey Hub, we understand that shipping rare, collectible, and valuable whiskey bottles safely around the world is extremely important to our customers. We take great pride in our international whiskey shipping process and work hard to ensure every bottle arrives securely and in the condition expected.
We use premium-quality protective packaging materials, including heavy-duty recyclable shipping boxes manufactured specifically for our business. Our packaging systems are designed to help protect bottles, presentation boxes, and collectible spirits throughout modern automated courier and freight networks.
Every shipment is carefully packed by our experienced team using specialist protective methods developed for shipping whiskey, spirits, and wine worldwide.
PLEASE NOTE
Courier and delivery companies do not generally provide insurance or replacement cover for alcohol, spirits, or glass bottles while in transit.
Irish Whiskey Auctions and The Whiskey Hub accept no responsibility for loss, damage, leakage, or breakages during shipping unless our optional Shipping Protection Premium has been purchased.
Due to the varying ages of collectible whiskey bottles and the condition of older corks and seals, the condition of liquid contents remains entirely at the buyer's discretion. Claims relating to evaporation, leakage, ullage, or seal failure cannot be accepted.
Drinking Glassware is not covered by our shipping protection premium.
DELIVERY PROCESS
- Items will only be shipped once all outstanding balances have been fully paid.
- After your order has been professionally packed, shipping labels and courier tracking information will be generated and made available within the "My Dashboard" section of your account under "My Invoices". Customers will also receive automated email notifications from both our system and the selected courier once the shipment has been dispatched.
- International customers may store auction purchases with us for up to 3 months free of charge in order to combine future auction winnings into a single shipment where possible. Storage beyond this period may incur holding fees.
- Items received and handled on behalf of customers from external businesses or third parties will incur a handling fee of €9.25 per item.
- All account balances, storage fees, shipping charges, and handling fees must be fully paid before goods can be released for dispatch.
SHIPPING RATES & UNITS
The shipping rates listed below apply to one standard 70cl bottle of whiskey, spirits, or wine with a standard presentation box or tube. This is classified as 1 UNIT for shipping purposes.
Larger, heavier, oversized, ceramic, decanter-style bottles, or bottles with substantial presentation packaging may incur additional shipping charges due to increased weight, dimensions, or specialist packaging requirements.
Custom shipping quotations are available upon request for larger collections or unusual bottle formats.
CUSTOMS DUTIES, TARIFFS & IMPORT CHARGES
With the exception of shipments to the USA where applicable arrangements may differ, all import duties, customs charges, local taxes, tariffs, excise fees, and clearance costs are the responsibility of the recipient.
Irish Whiskey Auctions and The Whiskey Hub are not responsible for delays, inspections, customs holds, additional charges, or import restrictions imposed by customs authorities or government agencies within the destination country.
IWA / The Whiskey Hub are not liable for any delays or charges incurred at point of entry into your delivery country.
